TIPS ON CREATING A BUDGET 1.Budget the must-have items first- Include the cost of attire, flowers, food, location, reception, event planner, reception cost, and any other essential items 2.Use software or a spreadsheet to help you plan your budget 3.For you to stay on budget you must write the cost of EVERYTHING down, both in the estimation process and in the actual spending process 4.If you put items on your credit card, log them onto the budget worksheet. Tip for keeping on top of your credit card balance is that each time you charge something, enter it in your checkbook register as if it were a check 5.Create a payment schedule showing the amount contracted for each service, the date the deposit is due, the date you pay the deposit, when subsequent payments are due, and note when you make them 6.ALWAYS reference your budget to see how much you’ve allotted for that particular item and stay within $5.00-$10.00 of it 7.This is if your doing your own planning: When talking w/vendors and arranging cost be sure to bring up budgeted amount first, let them know you are on a budget and stick with it
